Tweetie aka Firecracker -

A Special Needs Rescue Girl

Hi I'm Tweetie, and I'm 3 years old. I'm a tiny girl with lots of zip and energy, even though I've been spending a lot of time at the rescue doctor's office. The doctor said that I have a disease that prevents my liver from growing properly. The rescue folks need $2000 to pay the specialists for my tests. Doctor said instead of me smiling for the camera, their machine will take pictures of my tummy and this is called nuclear scintigraphy. I said as long as I get a cookie afterward, they can take scintigraphs of my belly all day long!

I have been diagnosed with hepatic microvascular dysplasia, so I'll be on prescription diet and take a denamarin tablet every day to help me stay healthy and active. I'm just about ready to be checked out of this hospital, but I asked especially to stay a little longer because nurse promised me double portions of green bean jello if I am still here at lunch time. I love toys, running, and giving kisses, and I am a champion wiggler, too. I have so many talents to share, and I'm so thankful the rescue angels came to my aid so I have a long life ahead of me.

Everyone who meets me says they are glad they did! So hurry and get your adoption application in soon for me, Tweetie. I have quite the list of admirers already, including Uncle Mark the photographer. So far my nicknames are: Speedy, Firecracker, Pistol, and CuteyPie!

Please open your hearts and help us to pay for Tweetie's medical

tests. This little girl deserves a long, happy and healthy life!

Hi folks, I'm Harry, at formal dinners I like to be called Harrington, but please feel free to use my nickname. Even though I am only 5 years old, I am a little gray because I am having a rough patch with seizures. For a while, the doctors helped me get them under control, but they are coming back more frequently and the rescue folks need to get me in for a neurologic exam as quick as possible. I need an MRI and other tests, and the rescue folks are hoping to raise the funds to take me to Dr. Ducote the specialist lady. Rescue is estimating my tests will cost over $1100.

I am a pretty mellow fellow, and I love it when my humans sit down on my level and let me lay beside them. My foster family adores me, and said I need a home where I am going to get a lot of attention and know that I am loved unconditionally. I get along very well with other dogs and I like cats just fine, too. I am not a lap pug, but I am a professional lounger, so please consider me as your perfect pug if you enjoy the life of leisure.

 Sue Lyn

Hi! I'm Sue Lyn. You may have heard about me because I've been in rescue care for a little while now. As foster dad says, this is not my first rodeo, but my condition is not getting better so the doctors have been visiting with me quite a bit lately. After months of treatment for diabetes, last week I lost my vision completely. I am a bit sad right now, adjusting to a new world, but I am happy to have my foster brothers and sisters to be my guide pugs while I learn. Before I lost my vision, the rescue doctors tried several treatments to try to help me retain my sight, but to no avail. There is a bit of good news, though, I had a growth removed from my ear, and so my hearing is getting better!

I am still having a bit of a struggle with my blood sugar, but foster dad is hoping that now that all these surgeries are behind me, I can focus on getting well. I suppose there aren't many folks who would want a defective pug like me. I'm far from perfect, and will always need extra tender loving care. But I hope that someone out there will see past all that to my heart, which is strong and ready to be filled with love for you. Please consider adopting me, I am ready to find a forever family and start a happy life with you!
