DFW Pug Rescue is experiencing a high volume of senior pugs coming in, while this is unfortunate, it can become a blessing to anyone who is willing to open their hearts and homes to a senior pug.

These precious seniors all have pasts that include being the new family pet, the puppy that the children always wanted, even the irreplaceable companion to another senior who has passed. Each senior pug has brought joy and laughter into people’s lives and homes, they have loved unconditionally and at one time they have known how it feels to have been loved.  But, for many reasons that are unfortunate, they have found themselves alone, scared, without the comfort of their family and all that they have ever known is gone.

Adopting a senior pug has many advantages and the number one is being on the receiving end of a heart that never grows old or tired. No matter how bad your day is going you can always count on coming home to a pug that looks at you like you are the only person in the world that matters to them, always happy to see you and show you how much you mean to them with plenty of kisses and tail waggles.  The furry, four legged best friend that will be devoted to you and forever grateful that you opened your heart and home so that they could enjoy their golden years with you and your family.

If you are considering adopting or fostering please keep our special seniors in mind. They may have a few gray whiskers, they may be long in the tooth as some may say, and it might take them a little longer to get their engines going but their hearts are still strong with love and ready for the next chapter of their life….hopefully that starts with you.
