Find a new forever friend when you adopt from DFW Pug Rescue! See below for more information on our process for adopting pugs and pug mixes.

DFW Pug adoption application process

Our pug adoption process includes various steps to ensure we are able to match your family with the perfect pug(s) to reduce personality incompatibility.

Step 1

Pay the $10 application fee

Why do we require an application fee? We require a fee to limit the amount of accidental applications coming through the adoption process.

Fill out the adoption application. After you pay the fee from Step 1, the application will open automatically.

We will contact you to discuss any questions and schedule a home visit.

Meet with our adoption team to learn about available pugs and discuss possible adoption matches

Sign the adoption contract and pay your adoption fee

General adoption
requirements

Overall, in order to be approved, prospective adopters must:

  • Be 21 years of age or older.

  • Live in one of the 48 contiguous states.

  • Come to the Dallas/Fort Worth area to pick up their adopted pug in person.

  • Provide documentation showing all dogs living in their household are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and on heartworm preventative.

  • Have a fenced yard, if they would like to adopt a puppy. Dogs 1 year of age and older do not require a fenced yard.

Adoption Fees

$600 Purebred Puppies under 1 year

$400 for Mixed Puppies under 1 year

$450 for Adults 1-7 years old

$200 for Seniors 8 years and over

$200 for Mixes over 1 year

Bonded pairs are 2 for 1 at the fee of the highest pug
