4 year old female

Story

Four-year-old Ariel is a former puppy mill breeder dog who is learning to become comfortable with her newfound freedom. She has had limited exposure to people and can be timid around them, but is naturally outgoing and playful with other dogs. Thanks to the companionship provided by other dogs in her foster home and her foster family’s patience, love, and encouragement, Ariel is learning how to go for walks on a leash, chew on bones and toys, respond to verbal commands, run free in the backyard, and even enjoy being petted. Her silly and goofy personality is finally starting to shine through, as is her propensity for following her people from room to room to see what they’re up to (Ariel “always wants to be in your business,” according to her foster mom). She is crate trained and housetrained (although she doesn’t like to go outside when it’s raining). Ariel’s forever family will recognize that she takes time to come out of her shell, and will continue to gently encourage her to explore her world. We believe that a calm and tranquil home that includes at least one other friendly and playful dog would help her to thrive. If your family would like to give Ariel a fresh start in life and gain a loving and goofy best friend in the process, apply for her here.
